BMX RACING
Why BMX Racing is right for you!
BMX Racing is a safe sport
BMX racing isn't any more dangerous than other youth sports. Statistics have shown that kids in the traditional (less “extreme”) sports such as basketball, football, baseball, and soccer suffer more injuries than in BMX racing. The reason why, perhaps, is that USA BMX requires protective gear and full-face helmets.
BMX Racing is an Olympic Sport
BMX made its Olympic debut at the Beijing 2008 Games and has been part of the Olympic program ever since. USA rider Connor Fields represented the United States at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the men's BMX Racing event. He won the gold medal in Rio de Janeiro and became the first American to win an Olympic BMX gold.
BMX Racing is an affordable sport
BMX racing can be very affordable and it can also get expensive if you want it to. But you can start off with a basic BMX bike new or used. The basic requirements for bikes to race are that all reflectors, the chainguard, the kickstand, and any axle pegs be removed. You can borrow helmets from us at Chandler BMX until you purchase your own. Practice and race fees are very low and the USA BMX memberships are low as well. Also, there are no costs for spectators to watch.
